NY's CenterState CEO enlists Frank Caliva III from D.C. for Lobbying 101 Panel

Frank Caliva III, Senior Consultant - Public Affairs & Strategy Development, will join a panel on May 3, 2012 in Syracuse, NY as an expert in government relations to help business owners and professionals learn how to educate and influence public officials.

In this event, “Lobbying 101” hosted by the CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (Centerstate CEO), the panelists will share their experiences and their best advice so that attendees  can help shape public policy, regulations and decisions at the local, state and federal levels to enhance business opportunities and the regional economy.

Frank manages the SCLLC office in Washington, D.C., working with organizations to identify appropriate public resources to support the achievement of strategic objectives, and using his public affairs and advocacy skills help these organizations to identify and pursue opportunities arising from public policy trends.

Public Relations Society Event features Michael Meath and Crisis Communications

Michael Meath, president of SCLLC, will lead and facilitate an interactive crisis communications seminar to public relations professionals in Central New York on April 24, 2012.

SCLLC’s educational program, hosted by the Public Relations Society of America – Central New York Chapter, uses an example crisis scenario as the foundation for an interactive learning experience. Participants work in groups and are assigned roles as they work together to identify initial strategies and communications for response. Michael will then guide all attendees through the scenario step-by-step and facilitate an open discussion about best practices and tips, using the real-life example scenario and interactive nature of the session to help participants return to their organizations with specific and relevant items to incorporate into their crisis communications plans and business operations.

Michael has been invited by the Public Relations Society of America – Central New York Chapter to present the topics of public relations, government relations, and crisis communications over the past several years.

Crystal Smith Earns Accreditation in Public Relations
Youngest APR in Central New York

Crystal Smith has earned the prestigious Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential from the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB). Smith is the youngest Accredited Public Relations professional in Central New York.

Established in 1964, the Accreditation Program is the profession’s only national post-graduate certification program. It measures a public relations practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of communications theory and its application; establishes advanced capabilities in research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation; and demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct. Currently, more than 5,000 professionals from the agency, corporate, association and education fields hold the APR mark. The UAB is comprised of eight national public relations organizations from around the world, including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
