St. Joseph’s Celebrates Achievement of Largest Green Healthcare Project in Upstate NY

St. Joseph’s celebrated its achievement of a vision started nearly 10 years ago—to implement the largest green healthcare project in Upstate NY.

At a press conference held at St. Joseph’s, the U.S Green Building Council presented St. Joseph’s with LEED Gold certification for its Emergency Services Building; King + King Architects presented St. Joseph’s with an American Institute of Architects Design Award for its Christina M. Nappi Surgical Tower; and St. Joseph’s kicked off the grand opening of new its Cogen Power Plant with a tour following the event.

The state-of-the-art emergency services building, operating suite and surgical tower belong to one of only 28 hospitals in the country to receive LEED Gold certification.

Representatives from U.S Green Building Council, King + King Architects, National Grid, Cogen Power Technologies, Congressman John Katko, and more shared their remarks this morning about this significant achievement.
