St. Joseph’s Health Heart Month Effort Earns National Attention

February is National Heart Month, and St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse earned national attention for its efforts to help people consider adding a dog to their lives to support better heart health.

As the number one hospital for cardiac care in the region, St. Joseph’s is committed to finding and sharing all of the different ways to help reduce the number of heart attacks and other cardiovascular conditions through community education, preventative care and population health.

To help community members take advantage of the heart health benefits of companion animals, St. Joseph’s is sponsoring adoption fees for all dogs and cats at the CNYSPCA and Humane CNY during the month of February.

Animal welfare is a cause that is near and dear to Strategic Communications owner Crystal DeStefano‘s heart. DeStefano is incredibly proud of this effort and the support from St. Joseph’s Health.
