Beginning this summer, Strategic Communications Senior Advisor and PR Consultant Kelly Gaggin, will bring her expertise and passion for communications and public relations education to the Spartans’ Department of Advertising and Public Relations as an assistant professor.
Kelly has worked in the communications field for more than 20 years, including a decade with Strategic Communications. Kelly began teaching in 2014 and her most recent academic appointment was as an assistant teaching professor of public relations at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School where she earned her Ph.D. In Mass Communications. Her research focuses on strategic communications in the nonprofit sector and she is the author of Nonprofit Communications: A Mission-Driven and Human-Centered Approach
She will teach online for Michigan State, allowing her the opportunity to balance her passion for clients with her love of teaching and continuing to bring real-time, real-world examples to the classroom. This summer she is teaching Public Relations Strategy and Ethics In a Digital World helping students explore aspects of the profession she excels at: strategic planning and ethical considerations.
A long time Spartan’s fan in a family of Wolverines, Kelly is excited for the football season and reaching a new level of fandom.
