Crystal DeStefano, APR, is not only President and Director of Public Relations at Strategic Communications, LLC – she’s also President of the Board of Directors for Helping Hounds Dog Rescue in Syracuse, NY.
After more than a year of construction, Helping Hounds Dog Rescue opened for business in its new location today. Crystal DeStefano led a press conference and “leash”-cutting this morning to officially open the new Helping Hounds Dog Rescue facility in North Syracuse, NY.
Crystal DeStefano stepped into the role of Board President in early 2019, as Helping Hounds Dog Rescue celebrated its 10-year anniversary.
After more than a year of construction and fundraising, the rescue has moved to a 9,000 square foot facility designed in partnership with Cornell University’s Shelter Medicine Program – more than three times its previous space. The organization recently reached the halfway point in its $1.2 million capital campaign for this new building and is continuing its fundraising efforts.
The rescue plans to offer new programs, such as expanding its community education efforts, launching a dog training program and respite care for dog owners facing financial, medical or personal crisis.
