Crystal (Smith) DeStefano, APR will begin a second term as president of the Central New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. During her first term as President in 2013, Crystal expanded the Board of Directors, who were able to increase engagement with professional members of PRSA as well as engagement with public relations students at multiple area universities and colleges with Public Relations Student Society of America chapters.

Crystal also brought the annual PRSA Northeast District Conference to Syracuse in 2013 – for the first time ever; and launched a local scholarship to help mid- to senior-level public relations professionals earn their Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).

Crystal and the Board of Directors have already begun planning events and initiatives for PRSA-CNY members in 2014.
