This month, Kelly Gaggin had the privilege of leading a marketing workshop for a troop of enthusiastic Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways preparing for their cookie sales season.
The interactive session covered essential marketing and communications fundamentals through the lens of their upcoming cookie campaign:
Customer segmentation: Understanding different buyer motivations and adapting their approach (Strategy)
Storytelling: Connecting product benefits to personal goals and community impact (Public Relations and Social Media)
Strategic planning: Identifying high-potential locations and timing for maximum results (Analysis)
The scouts participated in role-playing exercises, created personalized sales pitches, and developed action plans they could implement immediately. Watching them gain confidence in articulating value propositions and practicing their “ask” was a highlight for Kelly, the troop leaders, and families.
The young entrepreneurs left equipped with take-home materials, practical strategies, and most importantly, the confidence to put their new skills into action…and Kelly left having placed an order for far too many Thin Mints!
At Strategic Communications, we believe that sharing our expertise strengthens the communities we serve. By investing time in youth education and community organizations, we not only give back—we help build a more skilled, confident, and connected future for everyone.
