Virgie Townsend Joins CNY Biotech Accelerator Advisory Board

Strategic Communications Director of Public Relations Virgie Townsend has been invited to join the Advisory Board for the CNY Biotech Accelerator (CNYBAC). Virgie was also at the CNYBAC today to speak at the CNY Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Summit.

CNYBAC is an off-campus accelerator serving for-profit startup companies who are actively commercializing a biotech-related product or service. It is owned and operated by SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital.

Virgie began working in the life sciences 18 years ago as an intern. Over the years, she’s held communications and marketing roles at a global medical device manufacturer, bio/med trade association, national public health nonprofit, and life sciences public relations agency. In addition to her professional work, Virgie has personally seen the power of biotech innovation as the family member of a cancer patient who benefitted from a Phase 2 clinical trial. She looks forward to using her communication expertise and passion to further advance the life sciences here in CNY!
